Skyrim: The Ratway

January 11, 2015 - Skyrim / Video Games

Enter the Ratway from Riften, and a tunnel leads to a little camp guarded by Drahlff and Hewnon Black-Skeever.

The tunnel ends at a room.  Your first time through you will be forced to drop down and you can’t climb back out.  To your left you can unlock an expert gate, or you can go to the right.  If you go east (the door on the left), it will take you to a set of stairs which lead up to a room with one Lowlife on guard.  On the table is the skill book: Beggar.  From here you may exit east down a set of stairs to the Ragged Flagon, or you may exit south or north.  I suggest making a quick trip out the exit north to drop the wood bridge to cross back to the entrance tunnel.

If you head west from the locked gate (or simply choose not to open it), you will find a locked a trapped door, which you can disarm.  Follow this until it opens to a room with an oil slick and a store room ahead of you and a door to the south, guarded by a skeever.  Beyond the door to the south lives Gian the Fist who will attack and relentlessly pummel you.  He is wearing Gloves of the Pugilist, which are useful if you want to do unarmed combat.  He also has an alchemy table.

Exit south and then east to a garden.  Exit the garden north and you are in the room with one Lowlife, and can find the Ragged Flagon by going down the stairs to the east.
